I've replaced my PDF resume with a link to my LinkedIn Profile, which is more up to date and easier to keep current.
I have just started a new job at Ubisoft Montreal as Sr. Animator.
My resume was updated. I will be working on a new demo-reel in the next weeks.
RockstarVienna was shut down today.
When I came to work this morning and wanted to lock my bicycle into the storage room, my keys didn't work anymore, so I went upstairs and was handed a piece of paper saying that Take2, the owner of Rockstar Games decided to shut down our studio in Vienna. There were security-guards who made sure only a handful of people enter the reception area at once and that we don't get to our desks. Those man in black then led us in small groups (almost like sheeps going to the butcher) into a meeting room where our studio-managers told us, while being watched by Take2 employees, their bodyguards and lawyers, that it's no joke and all around 100 people working there (including themselves) are affected as of today.
I've spent the last 4 years of my life working at R* Vienna as Sr. Animator and Lead Artists and so far had great trust into our company and especially our very well run studio. I hope the project I have currently worked on still will be finished somehow - otherwise all work-related efforts I've invested into this game over the last 2 years, leading a group of 15 artists and animators, were flushed down the toilet and I can't even show anyone our great work. It's very sad - especially since the team we had was incredible good and each one was a guru of his field. At the same time every single one of us was a great person and fun to be with. I sure had a great time working there and will miss those wonderful people and the great working atmosphere.
The good news is, it looks like it's going to be a nice summer.
